- Professor A. O. Okolie graduated with a B. Sc (Second Class Honours), Upper Division from the Department of Accounting, Edo State University, (now Ambrose Alli University), Ekpoma in 1994/1995 academic session. He obtained MBA in 2000; M. Sc (Accounting) in 2005, and PhD (Accounting) in 2013 from University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria. Professor A. O. Okolie passed examinations the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) in November, 1999; was inducted Associate (ACA) of the Institute in April, 2000 and admitted Fellow (FCA) in April, 2012. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) in 2009 and Fellow of Chartered Institute of Treasury Management (CITM) in November, 2014. In 2023 he bagged Advanced Diploma Certificate in Leadership and Management from London Graduate School and was awarded Certified Management Specialist with Distinction in Time Management, London Graduate School on 26th May, 2023. Professor A. O. Okolie was appointed graduate assistant in the Department of Accounting, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma on November 1st 1995 and rose progressively through the ranks to the position of a Professor of Accounting on October 1st, 2016. He held several positions in Ambrose University, including Head of Department, 2008 – 2010; before he disengaged from Ambrose Alli University and joined Delta State University, Abraka on 4th January, 2021. Professor A. O. Okolie has received several National and International awards. He was awarded the African International Achievers award by the African Media Executives in Ghana on 5th May, 2018; He was given the Institute of Policy Management award for eminent achievement in the field of human endeavours through the application of policy management principles (2017); He won the National Association of Edo Students’ award of excellence for contributions to the Edo students in Nigeria (2016). Other awards include the Institute of Industrial Administration Educational Leadership award (2011); and Institute of Corporate Administration Fellowship award of Honour for outstanding performance in Educational Administration (2010). Professor Okolie Augustine Oke, in recognition of his contributions in academics, to society and to the accounting profession in particular, won the Commonwealth University award of Doctor of Accounting (Honoris Causa), 2023.
