Professor Pius Chinwuba Ike holds a PhD Degree in Agricultural Economics from University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He joined the services of Delta State University, Abraka in November 2002 and was promoted to the rank of Professor of Agricultural Economics on October 1st, 2015. He has vast practical experience in agricultural policy, agribusiness management as well as agricultural finance/project analysis and has been involved in qualitative and quantitative research since his academic career. He has consulted severally for World Bank funded projects including FADAMA III and SEEFOR Projects in Delta State as well as the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). He has also served severally as a resource person to different development projects in the assessment of consultant reports. Professor Ike is a member of some professional organizations including, Nigerian Association of Agricultural Economists (NAAE), Farm Management Association of Nigeria (FAMAN), African Farm Management Association (AFMA), Agricultural Society of Nigeria (ASN), African Association of Agricultural Economists (AAAE), Agricultural Policy Research Network (APRNet) which has worked closely with the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in conducting Capacity Building for Linkages of Research Policy and Practice as well as Policy advocacy, Public Enlightenment and Stakeholder Engagement programmes. He has been involved highly in organizing national conferences for professional Associations. Professor Ike has successfully supervised to completion many Postgraduate students (M.Sc. and PhD) as well as numerous Bachelor of Agriculture (B. Agric) graduates. He has served as external examiner for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in some Nigeria Universities and has also been external assessor for academic staff appraisal for some universities.
