  • DR. AYIBATONYE ALARI TIMI was born on the 9th August, 1962 in Ibadan, Dr. Ayibatonye Alari Timi attended UNA Primary School, lbadan, lbadan Grammar School and Methodist Boys’ High School Lagos for his First School Leaving Certificate, West African School Certificate and Higher School Certificate (HSC) respectively. It was after his HSC in Methodist Boys High School that he proceeded to University of Ibadan for a degree in Sociology, which he earned in 1987. His NYSC was in Ondo State. He later enrolled for a Masters degree in Lagos State University with a subsequent Doctorate from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma. His insatiable appetite for knowledge saw him still reading Law at Anambra State University. A course which may end anytime soon. Dr. Ayibatonye Alari Timi have a very rich work experience spanning both the public and private sectors of the economy. His first work in a formal setting was as a clerical officer in Kenrow Nigeria Ltd, Ebute Metta, Lagos. He later got employed as a Motor Clerk in United Nigeria Insurance Company. A job he did for a couple of years before moving to National Seeds Service as a Higher Executive Officer. Leaving National Seeds Service for academic pursuits, he came back reinforced with better education to become an operative of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). He later disengaged from NDLEA and joined the services of the Niger Delta University, Wilberforce lsland as Lecturer 11 in 2001. It was from the university that Dr. Timi got lured into politics. Dr. Timi contested the Federal House of Representative elections in 2003, an election he lost through the intrigue of party politics. He was thereafter appointed in 2004 as the foundation Chairman, Delta State House of Assembly Service Commission. A job he did with excellence for 7 years and then resigned to contest for House of Representatives again in 2011. He again lost this election and was thereafter appointed as an Honorable Commissioner into the Delta State Executive Council. Being a very determined person, Dr. Timi again resigned from the Executive Council to contest this time for the Delta State House of Assembly in 2015 and won. He attempted to re-contest for the same office in 2015 but failed at the party primaries. The Governor of Delta State Dr. lfeanyi Okowa have since given him an appointment as the Consultant on Education to the State Government. Dr. Timi is married to Hon. Justice Excel Timi, of the Delta State Judiciary and they are blessed with children.
