  • Ufuoma Efe, Akpovwovwo is a researcher, with speciality in Biogeography for about fifteen years standing. She holds a PhD from the University of Ibadan, where her research centred on Mangrove forest regeneration and conservation. Her interest in environmental conservation, was developed and honed in the Nigerian Conservation Foundation, Lekki (an environmental Non-Governmental Organisation), where she had a brief stint. In the search for effective tools for the purpose of increasing her research options, she bagged a professional Masters degree in Geographic Information System (GIS). Her love for knowledge transfer, influenced her foray into academics, as a lecturer of about twelve years in the Department of Geography and Regional Planning, Delta state University. Ufuoma is a member of several professional bodies which include Society for Conservation Biology, Young Women in Conservation Biology and Association for Nigerian Geographers. Her several publications span a wide range of subject areas, which are inclusive of the following: agroforestry, soil fertility assessment and management, mangrove forest management and conservation, forest management, remote sensing and GIS applications to environmental monitoring and management.
