Area of Specialization: Applied Geophysics
Department of Geology
Dr. Aweto Kizito Ejiro hails from Ovu-Inland, located on a spur adjacent a meander of the Warri River in Delta State. He obtained his B.Sc (Geology) from the University of Ibadan in 1998, M. Sc (Applied Geophysics) and Ph.D (Applied Geophysics) from the University of Nigeria in 2004 and 2014 respectively. He has been an academic staff at the Department of Geology, Delta State University since 2005 and has also served as Head of Department. He teaches Applied Geophysics, Mineral Resources, Petrology, Photogeology and Remote Sensing at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His area of interest is Environmental Geophysics and Hydrogeophysics; his research has focused mainly on application of resistivity and electromagnetic methods in identification of lithofacies, delineating aquifer geometry, assessing aquifer vulnerability, groundwater quality and characterization of dynamic behavior of aquifers in the Niger Delta, Nigeria. He has published several papers in peer reviewed journals. He is a member of the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society.
