  • Oster Francis Nwachi, obtained his first degree (B. Fisheries) at the University of Ibadan in 1999 with honours and M.Sc in Fisheries (Genetics and Breeding) with a distinction from the same University (2001). He obtained his PhD in Aquaculture and Marine Biotechnology from the Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2018. He is currently co-ordinator of Fisheries unit SIWES Program. A 2013 oversea TETFUND research grant and scholarship awardee. He hold a local patent for his work in fast growing red Tilapia (Putra red Tilapia) in Malaysia. He is a molecular Biologist of repute with published work in both Thompson Reuters and Scopus. Presently he is working on the use of both RAPD and microsatellites for classification and identification of economic important fresh water fish in River Niger.
