  • PROFILE ON EKELEMU, JERIMOTH KESENA PhD, Ffs Dr Ekelemu, Jerimoth Kesena was born in Ikeja, Lagos State on Sunday 7th December, 1958 into the family of Late Mr and Mrs Isaac Okupa Ekelemu. He is an Isoko by birth, from Idheze – Irri, Isoko South local Government Area of Delta State. EDUCATION He attended Apostolic Primary School, Benin – City, Edo State from 1965 – 1970, where he obtained the First School Leaving Certificate. His secondary education was in Urhobo College Effurun – Warri from 1971 – 1975. He attended University of Calabar, Calabar between 1979 – 1983 where he obtained a Bachelors degree in Fisheries. In 1988 he obtained a Post- Graduate Diploma Certificate in Education from University of Benin. In 1989 he had a Federal Government Post – graduate scholarship award and returned to University of Benin where he obtained a Masters of Science (MSc.) degree in Fisheriies/Hyrobiology in 1990. He enrolled as a Doctorate Student with Delta State University Abraka in 2001 and obtained a PhD degree in Fisheries in 2006. WORKING EXPERIENCE After his first degree in 1983, Dr Ekelemu Jerimoth Kesena taught for 12 years in a number of secondary Schools in the then Bendel State and Delta State and rose to the position of Vice – Principal. In 1996 he transferred his service to Delta State University, Abraka as an Assistant lecturer in the Department of Fisheries. He is currently an Associate Professor of Fisheries and has been involved in teaching and supervision of Students at the Under-graduate, Masters and PhD levels. He has also served as External Examiner in many Tertiary Institutions in the Country. In 2016, he was conferred with the prestigious title of Follow of the Fisheries Society of Nigeria (Ffs) APPOINITMENTS AND POSITIONS HELD i.
