Area of Specialization: Structures, Highway Engineering and Project Management
Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering
Engr. Julius Ogaga Etuke is an Academic staff of the Department of Civil Engineering, in the Faculty of Engineering, Delta State University, Oleh Campus. He obtained his MSc. degree in Civil Engineering and Construction Management from Heriot-Watt University, Dubai Campus and B.Eng. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. He is a registered member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and a corporate member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE). He started his professional career with Etteh Aro and Partners Limited Ibadan, where he was involved in the structural design and construction supervision of the following major projects: Stella Vera Cinema Building Ibadan, Calabar Port Access Road interchange design, Ondo Trauma Centre Ondo, Akwa-Ibom Stadium Complex Uyo and the NLNG Type 3 Building Apartment, Bonny. From there, he moved on to the Oil and Gas sector where he provided consultancy services for the design of the offshore surface facilities for Oceanquest Petroleum Nigeria Limited, Port Harcourt. From the Oil and Gas sector, he went back into private practice where he consulted for Debyl Nigeria Limited and VKS Construction limited. With a passion for teaching and training people, Engr. Etuke has been able to bring to the classroom the wealth of experience he has gathered from the field. He currently teaches the following courses: Strength of Materials, Technical Communication, Structural Analysis, Highway Engineering and Transportation System Analysis. He is the level adviser for the 200 and 300 levels. His research interest covers sustainable engineering design, highway engineering and value engineering. He is happily married to Mrs Vivien Etuke and they are blessed with two lovely children.
