  • I, John Oghenevwirhe Ohaju-Obodo hail from Ugbomro, Effurun in Uwvie Local Government Area of Delta State. I am a seasoned Lecturer, Researcher, Physician, Hospital and University Administrator of over a thirty-year period. Educated at Ughworume Primary School, Ugbomro, Urhobo College, Effurun, University of Benin, Benin City, University of Lagos, Lagos, West African Postgraduate Medical College, I am also an elected fellow of the American College of Physicians, the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, United Kingdom, the Nigerian Institute of Management Consultants and hold a certificate in Time Management from the London Graduate School. Several publications from my research works are in indexed peer reviewed Journals in addition to holding positions in the Editorial Board of some Journals. In the last ten years, I have attended over forty courses, workshops and seminars on issues related to Education. In some of these meetings, I either presided or performed the role of lead speaker. In a number of ways, I have contributed to developments at the Community, State, Federal and International levels as evidenced by my rendering services to some organizations notably, the National Universities Commission, the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, the West African Postgraduate Medical College, and the European Society of Pharmacoepidemiology. Moreover, I have also served on the management boards of a University Teaching Hospital and the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Abuja, among others. Currently, I am the Chairman of the National Drug Formulary/Essential Medicines List Review Committee of the Federal Government of Nigeria. Within the University system, I had at various times served as Head of Department, Dean of Faculty, Provost of College of Health Sciences, member representing Senate in the University Governing Council and the Dean of the Postgraduate School, Delta State University, Abraka. The achievements obtained in the course of carrying out these duties have earned me some awards and recognitions. I am happily married to Dr. (Mrs.) Beauty Okierumutere Obodo, a Ph.D. holder in Guidance and Counselling and our marriage is blessed with three sons, Esere (26), Rukeme (23) and Ejiro (18) years.
