- Dr. Emmanuel Morka is a lecturer in Microbiology at Delta State University in Nigeria. He received a merit-based M.Sc. and Ph.D. scholarship from Kelsan Insurance Brokers Limited, which supported him from 2013 to 2018. He is a postdoctoral research fellow at Santa Cruz State University in Brazil for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Dr. Morka is a member of several professional associations, including the Microbiology Society, the American Society of Microbiology, the Society for Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, the World Economic Forum, and Rotary International. He has numerous research publications and has participated in numerous local and international conferences and training workshops, earning various awards and recognitions. Notably, he attended the inaugural virology conference and workshop at Santa Cruz State University in Ilhéus City, as well as an event focused on race, ethnicity, and social classes at the Federal University of Bahia in Salvador, Brazil. He has also held several positions at Delta State University, including serving as a faculty representative and other institutional appointments.
He has previously served in the 8th National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, where he managed secretarial duties for the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream). This role provided him with valuable exposure to the formulation and initiation of policies and programs for the development of the oil and gas sector.
