  • Area of Specialization: Petroleum Geology, Sedimentology, and basin modelling
  • Department of Geology

  • Dr. O. Innocent EJEH has held full-time academic positions at Delta State University since 2003 till date. He has also held a research internship position as a basin modeller at Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), Port Harcourt, Nigeria from 2009 to 2010 as part of pre-doctoral work. Innocent is a member of numerous professional bodies (NMGS, NAPE, COMEG, IAS). Innocent has more than 5 years of postdoctoral research, and experience relating to basin modelling, petroleum geology and sedimentology. He has undertaken studies at numerous locations in the Niger Delta, Anambra, Dahomey, Benue Trough (northern), and Bida Basins and overseas (under the Erasmus+ staff mobility exchange programme of the European Union at the University of Patras, Greece in 2017 and 2019). Qualifications PhD, Petroleum Geology and Sedimentology, University of Ibadan, 2014 M Sc, Petroleum Geology/Sedimentology, University of Ibadan, 2005 B Sc, (Hons.) Geology, Delta State University, 2001. Key skills >16 years research experience and academic development: >Geological field surveys and structural data analysis >Sedimentary provenance analysis, Sediment characterisation and sediment transport assessment and depositional facies >Hydrocarbon source rock characterisation and potential analysis > Integration of numerical modelling results, field data and subsurface data >Stratigraphic forward modelling of clastic facies from source to sink > Building predictive models for HC exploration and exploitation for the shelf edge of the Niger Delta
