To become a leading Gender and Development Think-Tank that embarks on top quality gender and youth research that can influence policy and societal practices in Nigeria.

Our Goal

1. To conduct gender and development research for better understanding of Gender Histories (GH) and Gender Social Relations (GSR) particularly in Nigeria. 2. To challenge discriminatory Gender Practices (DGP), through Gender Awareness Campaigns (GAC), Gender-Based Training (GBT) and Gender Analysis (GA) that will inform Gender Development Policy and Practices in Nigeria. 3. To establish donor partnerships with key stakeholders in government, non-governmental agencies, civil society groups and academic research community on how tp advance the gender agenda in delta State and Nigeria in general.
The Delta State University's Centre for Gender and Development Studies (CGDS) is an academic community of multi-discplinary scholars, which is interested in conducting gender and human development-related research. Its overarching goal is to shape and reshape the understanding of gender formations, relations, roles, responsibilities and practices among Nigerians and Deltans in particular. It was in line with the above that the DELSU CGDS was inaugurated on 4th of March 2016.
