EXTENSION OF SALE OF ADMISSION FORMS FOR THE FOUNDATION PROGRAMME OF THE JOINT UNIVERSITY PRELIMINARY EXAMINATIONS BOARD (JUPEB) FOR THE 2018/2019 ACADEMIC SESSION

 

This is to inform the University community and the general public that Management has approved the extension of closing date for the sales of Admission forms for the Foundation programme of the Joint University Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) for the 2018/2019 academic session from August 3, to September 8, 2018.

 

A.    Duration of Programme

The duration of study is a minimum of nine (9) months.  Successful candidates are to be accommodated in the University Halls of residence in Site II, Abraka.

B.    Admission Requirements:

      (i)    Minimum of five (5) credit passes in at least five (5) “O” Level subjects, including English Language in  GCE, SSC (WASC, NECO, NABTEB) at not more than 2 sittings

        (ii)   Candidates for Medicine & Surgery, Nursing and Pharmacy: 5 O’level credit must be at one sitting.

 

Successful candidates at the end of an examination to be administered by JUPEB are eligible for direct admission into Degree Programmes of the Delta State University and other JUPEB affiliate Universities which include, OAU, UNILAG, UNN, UYO, FUTA, FUNAAB, UNIPORT, FUPRE, UNICAL, LASU, FUTO, UNILORIN, UNIBEN, NDU, ESUT, ABUAD etc.

 

Method of Application

Candidates are required to visit www.delsuonline.com. to generate a virtual PIN with N20,000 only payable at  Unity Bank, UBA, Zenith Bank and Fidelity Bank. (Cost covers honoraria for centre facilitation, logistics for producing screening materials and security).

 

Procedure: (i) Visit www.delsuonline.com. (ii) Click on JUPEB and complete the form with valid JAMB Registration

(iii) Submit the form and generate PIN (iv) Print out the PIN generated (v) Visit any of the specified banks for payment.

 

The application form must be correctly filled with all the required information before submitting online and thereafter printout a copy

ADMISSION INTO DIPLOMA COURSES FOR 2018/2019 SESSION (REGULAR PROGRAMMES)

 

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following Regular Diploma Programmes of the Institute of Education, Delta State University, Abraka.

Duration of Courses

The Diploma course will be for two sessions.

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

General Requirements

Applicants must possess at least four credits at not more than two sittings in the GCE O/L or NECO SSC or WASC, NABTEB or its equivalent.  Candidates are also expected to fulfil the specific Departmental Requirements for their various courses of choice.

 

(1)          Diploma in Business Education

a.             A minimum of four credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSC or WASC, NABTEB including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and one other subject at not more than two sittings.

 

b.            Associateship Certificate in Education/Accounting/Business Administration/Marketing/Secretarial Studies awarded by an approved Institution of Higher Learning.

 

(2)          Diploma in Hotel and Catering Management Education

a.            A minimum of four credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSC or WASC including English Language, Mathematics, Biology and any of Food and Nutrition or Home Management, and Chemistry at not more than two sittings.

 

b.            TC II with at least Merit passes in four subjects as required in (a) above and credit passes in Mathematics and General Science.

 

(3)          Diploma in Library Science Education

a.            A minimum of four credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSC or WASC including English Language and Mathematics, at not more than two sittings.

 

b.            A minimum of four Merits in TC II, including English Language and Mathematics.

 

c.            Any other equivalent qualification acceptable to Senate as in (a) and (b) above.

 

(4)          Diploma in Nursery and Primary Education

a.            A minimum of four credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSC or WASC including English Language and Mathematics,  at not more than two sittings.

 

b.            A minimum of four Merits in TC II including English Language and Mathematics.

 

c.            Any other equivalent qualification acceptable to Senate as in (a) and (b) above.

 

 

(5)          Diploma in Integrated Science Education

a.            A minimum of four O’Level credits in GCE or NECO SSC or WASC including English Language, Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry at not more than two sittings.

 

b.            A minimum of four Merits in TC II in the relevant Science subjects, English Language and Mathematics as indicated in (a) above.

 

(6)          Diploma in Physical and Health Education

a.                A minimum of four credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSC or WASC including English Language, Mathematics and Biology or Health Science, at not more than two sittings.

 

b.                A minimum of four Merits in TC II, including English Language, Mathematics,  Physical Education and any other subject.

 

c.                Holders of Associateship Certificate in Education.

 

(7)        Diploma  in Secretarial Studies Education

a.            A minimum of four credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSC or WASC including English Language, Mathematics, Economics or Commerce and one other subject, at not more than two sittings.

 

b.            Associateship Certificate in Education/Accounting/Business Administration/Secretarial Studies awarded by an approved Institution of Higher Learning.

 

(8)          Diploma in Mathematics Education

A minimum of four credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSC or WASC or equivalent which must  include Mathematics, Chemistry or Physics and English Language, at not more than two sittings.

 

(9)          Diploma in Biology Education

A minimum of four credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSC or WASC or equivalent, including Mathematics, Biology and English Language, at not more than two sittings.

 

(10)        Diploma in Chemistry Education

a.            A minimum of four credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSC or WASC or equivalent, including Mathematics and Chemistry, with a credit in English Language, at not more than two sittings.

 

(11)        Diploma in Physics Education

a.            A minimum of four credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSC or  WASC or equivalent, including English Language, Mathematics and Physics, and any other subject, at not more than two sittings.

 

(12)        Diploma in Health, Safety and Environmental Education

a.            A minimum of four credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSC or WASC including English Language, Mathematics and one Science subject from Biology/Health Science, Agricultural Science, Chemistry and Physics and one other subject, at not more than two sittings.

 

(13)        Diploma in Computer Science Education

a.            A minimum of four credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSC or  WASC or equivalent including English Language and Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at not more than two sittings.

 

b.            A minimum of four Merits in TC II, including English Language and Mathematics and any other two Science subjects.

 

(14)        Diploma in Early Childhood Education

a.            A minimum of four credits in the GCE O/L or NECO SSC or WASC,  including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings.

 

b.            A minimum of four Merits in TC II, including English Language and Mathematics.

Requirements

 

1)         Candidates are required to visit www.delsuonline.com to generate an applicant virtual pin N12,000.00 (twelve thousand Naira) only and make payment to any of the following banks:

Ecobank, Unity Bank, Zenith Bank and UBA

 

PROCEDURE TO GENERATE VIRTUAL PIN

(i)           visit www.delsuonline.com

(ii)          Click online registration

(iii)         Click start

(iv)         Click Diploma Programme

(v)          Click Start

(vi)         Submit the form and generate pin

(vii)        Print out the pin generated

(viii)       Visit the specified bank for payment.

 

2(a)      Candidates should, with the pin for payment, access and complete the Delta State University, Abraka 2018/2019 Diploma form online at hhp/www.delsuonline.com with their recent colour passport-sized photograph scanned to the JPEG format and not more than 20kb in size.

 

 (b)      Candidates are advised to use virtual pin immediately after payment, as the pin will be invalid after six (6) hours of generation.

 

(c)        Candidates are advised to read the instructions on the front page of the website before completing the form.

 

(d)       Candidates are required to come to the examination venue with the following:

 

i.             a copy of the Print-out of completed online confirmation of application;

 

ii.            two recent passport-sized colour photographs with the full names of candidates and signature on the reversed side of the photographs;

 

iii.           four-figure table (where applicable); and

 

iv.           biro, HB pencil and eraser.

 

3.         Online application will start on Monday, August 6, 2018.

4.         Application website closes by 12.00 midnight on Monday, November, 12, 2018.

 

NOTE:

 

(a)          Candidates are to log in ONLY the courses they chose for the Diploma programme.

 

(b)          GSM phones are not allowed into the Examination halls.

 

(c)          Parents, guardians and well-wishers will not be allowed to stay around the venue of the examination.

 

(d)          Any person caught impersonating will be handed over to the Police and the candidates impersonated will automatically be disqualified.
