NOTICE TO ALL GRADUANDS

11TH CONVOCATION CEREMONY FOR THE 2015/2016 ACADEMIC SESSION

 

This is  to inform all graduands of the 2015/2016 academic session (Regular, Sandwich, ISLT, Weekend/Part-Time and Diploma), parents/guardians and the general public that the 11th Convocation Ceremony of the Delta State University for the Conferment of Higher Degrees, First Degrees, Diplomas and Award of Prizes has been scheduled as follows: 

 

Friday, 14th July, 2017

Jumat Service

Time:  12.00 noon

Venue:  Prayer Ground, Site III, Abraka

 

Sunday, 16th July, 2017

Interdenominational Church Service

Time: 10.00a.m.

Venue: Our Saviour’s Chapel, Site II,  Abraka

 

Tuesday, 18th July – Thursday, 20th July, 2017

Collection of Academic gowns and Convocation Brochures and certificate folders by graduands

Time: 9.00a.m. – 4.00p.m.

Venue: Faculty Offices in Abraka, Asaba and Oleh Campuses

 

Thursday, 20th July, 2017

(a) Press Conference by the Vice-Chancellor

Time: 9.00a.m.

Venue:  Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Room, Site II, Abraka.

 

(b) Convocation Exhibition (organized by the Department of Fine and Applied Arts)

Time: 10.00am

Venue: Bruce Onobrakpaye Art Gallery, Site II, Abraka.

 

(c) HIRING OF ACADEMIC OUTFITS (FIRST DEGREE AND DIPLOMA GRADUANDS ONLY)

Academic outfits are available for hire in the Faculty Offices.

The cost of hiring academic outfits is indicated hereunder:

 

Diploma and First Degree Graduands are to pay the sum of Ten Thousand (N10,000.00) Naira only for the collection of academic gowns.

The sum of Five Thousand Naira (N5,000.00) will be refunded on return of the gown.

 

POST GRADUATE ACADEMIC OUTFITS

Higher Degrees Graduands are to purchase their Academic Gowns from Post Graduate School as indicated below:

Ph.D Gown     =        N30,000

Masters Gown =        N25,000  

 

 

SPECIAL INFORMATION TO ALL GRADUANDS

Graduands are please requested to note the following:

1.  It is mandatory for all graduands to pay for the following items irrespective of attendance at the Convocation Ceremony

a.   Order of proceedings                          N3,000

b.   Certificate and Certificate Folder           N15,000

c.    Book on DELSU @ 25                         N4,000

 

Mode of Payment:  All payments are to be made to DELSU NET INCOME ACCOUNT NO. 1012233419 ZENITH BANK (AND NOT DELSU SKYE BANK RECURRENT ACCOUNT NO. 6000016978) (and receipt will be issued by the Bursary Department on presentation of Bank Teller (Not Print-out) after one day of payment to ensure that their names reflect on the manifest before issuance of receipts)

 

(A)      CONVOCATION LECTURE

Venue: 1st 750 Lecture Auditorium, Site III, Abraka.

 

(B)      CONVOCATION DRAMA (ORGANIZED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF THEATRE ARTS

Time: 4.00pm

Venue: ATSCAN Hall, Site II, Abraka

 

Saturday, 22nd July, 2017

Conferment of Diplomas, First Degrees, Higher Degrees, Honorary Degrees and Award of Prizes.

Time: 9.00am

Venue: Indoor Sports Complex, Site III, Abraka.

 

ALUMNI FEES:

Alumni fee of N2, 000 is to be paid by all Graduands through DELSU Alumni Account No. 0742001706 Ecobank. (Those who have collected their statement of results and have paid their Alumni dues need not pay again)

 

NOTE:  Graduands wishing to collect Academic gowns are to deposit the original of their statements of results/certificates (as applicable) in the Faculty Office.  These would be returned to their rightful owners including the refundable deposits on return of the gowns in good condition not later than Thursday, July 29, 2017.

 

Every graduand is entitled to two invitation cards, which will be collected along with academic gowns, brochure and certificate holders in the Faculty Offices.  Graduands and their guests are expected to take their seats on the convocation day not later than 9.00 am.

OBITUARY

 

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Victor F. Peretomode, on behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, Management, staff and students of Delta State University, regrets to announce the death of late Mrs. Ngozi Ugbome which sad event occurred on Thursday, June 15, 2017.

 

Late Mrs. Ngozi Ugbome joined the services of the University on 30th September, 2004 as Messenger/Cleaner in the Registry Department and until her death; she was Head Messenger/Cleaner I in the Dean’s Office, Faculty of Education of the University.

She was aged 57 and survived by 7 children, brothers, sisters and other relations.

9.00 a.m:      Body leaves Medisarji Mortuary, Obiaruku for Umuachi Okoliri I, Afor, Ndokwa-East L.G.A.                                      .

 

11.00 a.m:    Funeral Service at Umuachi Okoliri I, Afor, Ndokwa-East L.G.A.

 

12.00 p.m:    Interment and Entertainment of Guest follow immediately.

 

May Her Gentle Soul Continue to Rest in Perfect Peace.  Amen.
