It is hereby notified for the information of all 2013/2014 graduards, (Regular, Sandwich, ISLT and Weekend/Part-Time), their parents/guardians and the general public that the 9th Convocation Ceremony of the Delta State University for the Conferment of Higher Degrees, First Degrees, Diplomas and Award of Prizes has been scheduled to hold on Saturday, 2nd May, 2015.

All graduands are expected to pay the sum of N2, 500.00 (Two Thousand, Five Hundred Naira) only for brochure. (order of proceeding)




Academic outfits are available for hire in the Faculty Offices.

The cost of hiring academic outfits is indicated hereunder.


Ø  Diploma Graduands are to pay the sum of Three Thousand Naira (N3,000.00), PLUS Refundable Deposit of Seven Thousand Naira (N7,000.00) for Gown and Scroll.


Ø  First Degree Graduands are to pay the sum of Three Thousand Naira (N3,000.00), PLUS Refundable Deposit of Seven Thousand Naira (N7,000.00) for Gown and Scroll.



Ø  Higher Degree Graduands are expected to purchase academic gowns as indicated below:

All payments must be made through the University Account


Mainstreet Bank (and receipt issued by the Bursary Department on presentation of Bank Teller)


Ø  Alumni Fees:

Alumni fee of N2000.00 is to be paid by all Graduands through DELSU Alumni Account No 0742001706 Ecobank


NOTE: Graduands for the first time in the history of DELSU will collect their original certificate during the convocation ceremony.  Furthermore, graduands wishing to collect Academic gowns and their original certificates are to deposit the original of their statements of results/certificates (as applicable) in the Faculty Office. These would be returned to their rightful owners on return of the gowns in good condition not later than Thursday, May 5, 2015.


Every graduand will be entitled to two guests. Invitation cards for such guests will be collected along with Academic gown, brochure and scroll in the Faculty Offices. Graduands and their guests are expected to take their seats on the convocation day not later than 9.00am.

The trustees of Ajesola Solarin Majekodunmi Foundation (ASMAF) announce the foundation’s scholarship award for 2014/2015 academic year.


Ajesola Solarin Majekodunmi Foundation (ASMAF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to awarding scholarships to bright but financially handicapped young Nigerian females for tertiary level education in professional courses and leadership and life skill development.


Eligibility Requirements


Applicants must:


1.      Be female INDIGENT and Nigerian citizen embarking on tertiary level qualifications for the first time.


2.      Have gained admission to or be enrolled in a full-time accredited undergraduate programme in Medicine, Law, Engineering, Accountancy, Actuary, Architecture or any professional course in any public university in Nigeria.


3.      Demonstrate commitment to academic and professional excellence and possess strong leadership potential.


Method of Application

1.      Interested and eligible applicants should collect form from the Student Affairs Office.


2.      Deadline for collection and submission of application is Friday, May 29, 2015.  Late application will not be accepted.

3.      Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.

4.      Selection board decisions are final.


This is to inform staff and other members of the University community that in a bid to encourage staff participation in exercise for healthy living, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Victor F. Peretomode, has approved Monday, 11th to Saturday, 16th May, 2015 for the forthcoming Vice-Chancellor’s Annual Inter Union Soccer Competition.

In view of this, the four Unions on campus should embark on training and preparation of their team for the competition as footballs have been made available for the purpose of training by the Director of Sports, Mr. A. O. Achugbue.

The fixtures for the event will be drawn at the appropriate time before the competition by the representatives of the four Unions.  It is worthy of note that the Vice-Chancellor has also provided trophy and cash prizes for the winners.
